My E39 Thread Take 2 (post-HardTuned apolocalyptic 8-days-of-lost-posts mad failures)

Bought a new car recently. Wasn't really in the market for anything fancy, but decided to look up any Bimmers for sale in SA. This came up and I couldn't resist. Very much into white cars at the moment. Had it inspected and came up with a few things - namely: rear ball joints are failing, it needs a new boot popper button and it could do with a new left hand side windsheild wiper blade.

So I bought it. Haven't named her yet; we'll see what I can come up with.

Will keep this image updated to keep the Member's Rides pic up to date.

November 1996 535i
M62B35, 185kw 3.5L V8
300 BMW4090 Alpinweiß III
Grey Leather w/ Wood Trim
5 Speed Steptronic Transmission

She is completely stock at the moment. Lets see what I can come up with for her. Working overseas and being away will make it more difficult to get around to modding her, but I'll try to turn her into a nice clean cruiser/highway destroyer.

I've decided on a name... Nikita.

For two reason:
1) Generic Eurotrash name.
2) After Nikita Esco, major hottie.

Hahahahaha

Had her serviced and all the bits and peices taken care of, so shes perfect. So then I bought a few accessories for her...

She's tinted. Dark.
Matte Black M5 Grills
Went for some aftmarket Angel Eye headlight clusters... got something that stands out a little bit more than standard Hellas, but in a similar style. Unsure whether its too "rice" really.
Crystal clear side indicators.
Update LED tails, which apparently, the money never went through for, so am chasing that down now.
18" Style 95's - which are a concave wheel. 8" +15 fronts with 245 rubber, 9.5" rears with 255 rubber. Except the rubber is too high profile (45) so the strut is sitting on the rubber... not cool. Will probably put some 25mm spacers on them to get them sitting flush.
Plastic M5 front and rear bumpers for perfect fit.

Except, now I've run out of time. Back offshore this week, so next trip, I'll sort out the painting of the kit, rash repair and respray of the wheels, and might even pick up some mirrors, coilovers and an exhaust for it.

I can't decide what colour to paint the wheels...

I'm thinking a metallic bronze.

...ideas?

Cos sometimes people don't want to own a car that just constantly gets them hassled by the police.

OEM+ is where its at.

i'd do the wheels a charcoal matte black colour, with a white pinstripe around the outside, or a thin whitewall on the tyre.

how much you pick her up for?

Fronts with 25mm spacers sit too far out for me. Will be getting 15mm spacers instead.
Attached Image Attached Image
Current effective size/offset: 18x8 ET-10

Rears with 25mm spacers sit perfectly.

Need to lower next. When I do, I'll counter any neg camber tho, to stop them tucking under. Won't be going silly low; this car is a daily and is not being built to be defected.
