Does anyone know any work shops in the city or on the western suburbs that regrind cams to custom specs?
p.s would it be ok to go down this path or better to buy all new cams?

Regrinding your stock cams on an sr will only result into a lower spec, unless you can change the rocker ratio then with reducing the base circle you can increase lift and duration on a regrind.
I can get special sr rocker arms which have a higher wear pad which increases the rocker ratio, but then you have to get your regrinder to do all the amth on working out the re grind specs.
imo lot of money spent for a waste of time, a set of hks, tomei, greddy drop ins are around 700-800 at the moment, it will cost you more than that for higher ratio rockers, regrind cams and a reshim.

you can buy custom camshafts from crane cams, wade, crow etc. but they might not be able to make the exact camshaft you want.
give them a call
they made my custom cams ( crane)

to measure lift its really easy.

measure base circle of cam lobe
then measure the camshaft lobe height

work out how much the height is off the base circle
then x 1.5

;)
