Marko 1 Posted April 15, 2014 Im in the market to buy a used car and its been years since i have done it. What websites are any of you using to check the VIN for any money owing on it, insurance and theft claims? Theres a few sites on a google search but the prices vary from $6 to $36. _R_J_K_ 10 Posted April 16, 2014 PPSR looks to be something the Federal Government has introduced to replace stuff like REVS - https://transact.ppsr.gov.au/ppsr/QuickVINSearch?li=False
snowdude_r 2 Posted April 16, 2014 Yeah I've just used ppsr, it gives you the basics like written off or stolen vehicle and engine number etc, can't remember if it lists mileage or not though I think some of the more expensive ones are abit more in depth
Matt_21 0 Posted August 9 No need to pay that much if you are just checking out those details in particular. There are websites out there like this one that offers free VIN check. NICB.org and some DMV sites offer similar online services.

That site doesn't work for vehicles in Australia
